Tax. A frequent enemy in our daily lives. However, the truth is, this nuisance is fundamental to democracy and in order for society to function in a successful manner. The problem that has been occurring over the years for citizens, is the fact that paying tax has become an exercise to loathe. Nobody enjoys tax. After all it is a significant amount of a person's hard-earned money being taken away from them, with them not being able to do anything about it.
With this friction in mind, demoTAX was born. A modern and fresh approach to your tax services.
The task is to change the whole perception behind paying tax and make it a clear, comfortable experience that anybody, any age can understand. The aim for our website will be to create a clear and clutter-free interface which allows people to pay tax easily while also being able to access new features such as voting and view data on tax distribution.
Providing a sensible and easy user journey was at the forefront of our design process. We believe that paying tax is a task which many people dislike doing, which is understandable as workers are essentially giving away a portion of their hard earned money.
Current council websites have too much unnecessary information which takes up people’s time, reinforcing the idea why people hate paying tax and why some will even forget about it/avoid it.
With our user journey we focused on time and navigation. Our website is designed in a way which allows users to pay tax within a few steps, saving time and trouble navigating a complicated user interface.
